Default car starts then dies

Yesterday I went to start my 99 after leaving Home Depot and it started then the idle dropped to 450 and idled rough. I feathered the throttle and it sputtered then stalled. It did this a few times, then it just wouldn't run, it started but immediately stalled.
It did this only once before a few weeks ago and I didn't give it a second thought, because after restarting , it ran fine.
Any thoughts??
By the way , raining here in So Cal

You might first try reseating the fuel pump relay. If that doesn't cure the problem try swapping it with a different relay of the same size and type.
The fuel pump comes on for a few seconds and then shuts down. When the engine starts the ECM turns the pump on thru the relay for the engine to run.
It's a good place to start. Let us know how it works out.

See if this information on the power to the pump. Also read the OBDII codes and try to get a fuel rail pressure check.

Check the throttle butterfly isn't stuck shut. Remove intake pipe, clean with intake cleaner.
