Headlight size
Can anyone tell me the size of the head lamps on the 1973 E Type Convertible? A friend of mine has one which we can't get access to at the moment because its away at a repair shop and we'd like to order up some head lamps for it.

 

I believe it takes a 7" headlight. I've found that for my '70 any 7" headlight that fits a jeep will fit the car. I found these Lucas units on eBay: Jaguar E-Type Xk Lucas 7" Sealed Beam Halogen Conversion H4 Headlight Kit Lamp | eBay

I've just been through this. Mine is a different year - but hopefully the following info is useful:

Other variables besides diameter: Not all 7" headlights incorporate both hi & lo beam - some are hi beam only. Hi beam only has 2 connectors, Hi & Lo beam versions have three connectors. Check for LH or RH drive for the appropriate dip beam pattern. Voltage can be 6V or 12V. Fitting can be car or motorcycle. (Cars have the alignment pips - motorcycles don't)

The ebay ones are RH drive motorcycle units (no pips). Not sure it matters about the pips really, just offered up for completeness.
