People from Belgium
hi
If there are any people from Belgium you can post it over here. We could help each other out by sharing good places where we can find parts, accessories etc. I can be found around Mechelen, Leuven & Antwerp :) |

Thanks, you're being a great help

I'm a new Jag forum member in Brussels. Happy to learn the best services and parts providers from you veterans in the area.
|
Also a new Belgian Jaguar forum member, living on the border between Belgium and the Netherlands, near Zelzate/Terneuzen.
I realise the last posting here is more than a year ago, but anyone looking for information on good Jaguar specialists in the area or just wants to talk about the X300 in general, feel free to send me a private message or post here (or if I can help with some second hand Jaguar parts, currently dismantling an XJ X300 for personal use). Kind regards, John |
Still active
Hi,
Welcome. I'm still active. I've always had an x308, but just bought an x350 a month ago. Know some people with an x300, so I'll let them know you might have some parts :) |
Hi,
Thank you. I considered an X350 too but the stories about electronics leading their own life, scared me a bit. But it was when I noticed it had an electronic handbrake, I decided to not take the risk. I had an electronic handbrake on my Lancia Thesis and it was extremely troublesome. I never knew when the car would drive because it blocked the rear wheels at random. Sometimes it went well for a few weeks and then all of the sudden I could not move the car. Spent a small fortune on that car. Anyway, enjoy the X350 because it is the last classic looking Jaguar and from what I read, it drives superb thanks to the lightweight aluminium chassis and panels. |

Hallo allemaal / Hi everybody.
I'm based in Hasselt and the proud owner of a 1989 XJ40. You can read all about it on David's Car Blog (my personal blog dedicated to classic cars, with lots of Jaguar-related content). |
Another one from Belgium!
Hi guys
I joined this forum today and I live in Herent (5 km from Leuven). I've bought (but haven't received yet) a 10 year old XJ Diesel. Looking forward to stay in contact. BTW I quite frequently use jaguarforum.nl (and I know David does so to). Is anyone else of you using this Dutch forum? |

Hello, I also live in Herent and I have a 2005 XJ and a 2015 XJ. When will you get yours? I would love to see it.. I also use the dutch forum, and I know some good garages that won't cost you tons of money and I also have good links for parts etc.
|
From Belgium Antwerp but also living in Spain, costa blanca.
Looking for a X150 4.2 xkr or a 5.0 xk |
I'm from Oostrozebeke, West-Vlaanderen.
Don't have a Jaguar yet but I'm looking for a reputable garage owner in the region that is knowledgable and doesn't charge too big for repairs... :D Aspiring to own a XJ8R. |
hey, there is a good garage in the Netherlands, but in the south.. should be near you (or near enough to you).. Exco is the name, they did my Jaguar alarm system, pedestrian sensor and Mp3 kit.. for quite a good price.. and very good service.. a simple google will provide their website
|
Garage
The best garage is G&G autoservice, hands down.
I've been to a dozen garages in Belgium and the Netherlands. This guy is honest and passionate about what he does. The other ones don't know what they're talking about or are overpriced. |
+1, G&G, Zeeland (Heinkenszand), great garage.
|
Thx to the politicians I won't buy a jaguar anymore. Taxes rose from 1700 to 3100(!!!) euro...
|
OMG.... This is for a 3.6 1700€/year to 3100? What this will do with the 4.2 or the 5.0?
Where can you check this? I think a lot of people will start thinking of selling, but then again the new registration fees are also quite rediculous.... |

All cars more than 15 years are paying 61,70 EUR Mine is 4.0L supercharged. Its about 370hp |
I wish it was like that.
I think you will be in for a suprize. For a 4liter engine, which is 20 fiscal PK, you will pay 1.961,52 euro roadtax. Only if the car is older than 25 year you can use the cheap "old-timer" formula, which limits you a lot in the usage of the car. |

Only if the car is older than 25 year you can use the cheap "old-timer" formula, which limits you a lot in the usage of the car. They have two categories: 15-20 years old called classic & 20-eternity that they called old-timer. At the first category you pay 61.70 for the second I think it is less. If the government decided that we have to pay more... Err well lets pay it. We only live once.... If I don't spend them in the car for sure I 'll spend them somewhere else. |
Dimitris, you are probably talking about the insurance not the road tax.
Road tax of 4.2l (including co2) with new calculation method adds up to 2700. |

Road tax of 4.2l (including co2) with new calculation method adds up to 2700. As I wrote on a previous post, i don't mind paying it. If you thing that you ll get a Jag with the costs of a Fiat (just an example) you are well mistaken. Paying for a standard tax is the least of my worries.. Have a good day sir!! |
Hello! I am not belgium but I have many relatives in this country and I often spend a few months from them. The next time I come I would not mind knowing any of you!
