Default Heat won't turn off

My wifes 2018 Fpace first had no heat and was only blasting cold air (it was 40 degrees outside) At first I thought we may be low on anti freeze (which we were right at the low line when cold) I did not have any to add and drove to the closest gas station.. restarting we now it only blows extremely hot air. I did add a small amount of antifreeze when the engine was cold. (now between the lines)

The problem still exists. I am guessing it is a faulty Temperature blend door actuator. I would love to get your thoughts, suggestions and ideas (instructions) on how to repair. The dealership here is terrible and I don't trust them. Local shops cant get us in for weeks. Besides adding rocks to the car and turning it into a sauna I need some help.

Thank you in advance.

You might try a reboot to the system. Access the battery in the trunk and remove the NEG cable from the battery for 5 minutes. Reattach and tighten the connection with a wrench. While you’re there check the tightness of the POS too. All connections should be wrench tight.

Windows and hatch will have to relearn limits for automatic up/down and close to work but that takes no time at all.

Make sure you are adding Ford or GM Orange coolant assuming that is what is in your car now. It should be. No green or blue.

If that doesn’t work I’d take it to the dealer for a diagnosis. I don’t know if a JLR independent with a better Autel unit will be able to see an HVAC fault.

Figured it out. I took apart the dash to see the actuators. The bar that is attached to the fresh air intake had popped off at the axle of the damper. The little tab that holds it in place is broken so it slid off of the shaft. Now to try to find a replacement part.. or should I just epoxy it?

I've had those keepers break on outboard throttle linkages. What a pain. Can you get a tiny zip tie in there. Might find a linkage clip on Amazon.
So getting to the flap motor wasn't too hard? I had a flap motor go bad on my '95 1/2 S6. I can still feel my hands getting shredded trying to get the old one out.
