Pretty big difference in color temperature (led on right). The yellow of the halogens always bugged me:

Good to see! (no pun intended honest Guv).
The good thing about the OEM F-Type lighting is that these foot well lights and the puddle lights are the only sickly yellow ones, everything else both in and out is white LEDs which don't need replacing.
Unlike my two XFs where there wasn't an LED in sight and every single goddam globe desperately needed to be replaced!

I installed blue LEDs in the footwells, and thought they were too blue. Installed red, and thought they were too dark, and they didn't match the (default) blue ambient lighting. Went back to blue, but would like a "whiter" color of blue...
Below is the red.

And the blue:

Hey Tork, if you want a "whiter" colour of blue look on Fleabay for "ice blue" LEDs, literally millions of listings.
They almost perfectly match the bluer shades of the F-Type interior lighting.
I tried all sorts of colours in my XFR (where the factory default lighting scheme was "phosphor blue" in Jag-speak), including the intense blue you have tried and bright white, and I settled on ice blue in the rear roof lights, front main light and foot well lights (with bright white in the front reading lights) as the best set up.

For as often as I drive my car around with the door open, the footwell lighting color really isn't an issue for me.

Thanks OzXFR :)

I may not drive with the door open (well not often!) but the horrible dull sickly yellow light of the el cheapo OEM footwell globes annoyed the bejeebus out of me every time I opened a door, they really did downgrade the interior appearance IMHO, so they had to be replaced with bright white LEDs asap.

On the contrary, I always found yellow light to be warm and comfortable, and white light from LEDs or fluorescents to be harsh and unflattering to most objects.

To each their own.

Agreed, each to their own.
I also have a half-baked theory that us "more mature" owners with failing eyesight find the stock yellow lights too dull to be much use and the brighter whiter LEDs enable us to see things a lot better. My garage is almost pitch black this time of year (winter here in Oz) and I need all the help I can get getting into the car. Yep, half-baked, but I wonder if it has a touch of truth to it?

Personally the lack of consistency shat me. White under the door, yellow in the footwell, blue (changeable) on the handle, blue (non changeable) on the doors. it's like a friggin rainbow in these cars. I changed everything to ice blue which is a bit morgue-ish (but awesome if you are a fan of the Borg), and am only annoyed when I change to dynamic and have red in some places and blue in others.

Don't let the naysayers get you down, Oz, some of them are influenced by their SWMBOs.

That was certainly the issue on the puddle lights, but in this instance, I never gave the footwell lights another thought. Maybe next time when I see them in the dead of night, they'll start bugging the crap out of me (NOT!).

You old farts still can drive at night? I avoid driving at night as much as I can.

I'm 66 years old and still playing softball in the night leagues. Eat more carrots.

Noshame 06-12-2019 04:27 PM

My wife feeds me so many carrots that I grew a cotton tail and long ears.

What kind of base must the foot well bulb have to be compatible? Anyone have a link to one that works?

Just about any T10 wedge W5W will work fine and they don't need to be canbus compatible.
But smaller/shorter ones like COB will be easier to fit than SMD or Cree which tend to be a bit longish.
