The magnetic feature is ment to give more of the feel of a mechanical sequential link. ie a bit more initial resistance as the lever is pulled to separate the magnet. I did order one from AliExpress as they are easy to get into UK. Its good to hear the airbag can stay in place when fitting as this looks not to be the case for other manufacturers cars.

Thanks!

I received mine today from the eBay link posted. Good fitment and magnets seem high quality. It’s actually machined metal on the mounting points so an upgrade from stock plastic. This will allow me to finish machining a new paddle from steel or aluminum alloy and just torx it onto the assembly. No longer need to pursue a steering wheel update to get the facelift paddle shifting feel.

I ordered mine and should have them in by late next week. I’ve never been happy with the factory leather on the Jaguar steering wheel—the top center line is noticeably crooked and about a half-inch wide, and it drives me crazy. Rather than buying a replacement wheel from China that might be built on a remanufactured core, I decided to go a different route. I’m having a custom leather cover made through this company and will install it myself: https://mewantx.com/

I have the OEM accessory Aluminum paddles in my XE, I absolutely love the feel of the aluminum, so I would suggest that over steel. Also you could get extra fancy and have your machined bits anodized to coordinate with you car's interior or body color.
I'll post my design once I get it finished. Laundry list of projects :) |
Selling the ones I just received, not for me, I like my original SVR Aluminum ones.
Jaguar Land Rover Carbon Magnetic Paddle Shifters | Extended + OEM Set | eBay |
Having replaced my standard silver plastic paddles these feel like an upgrade. Not exactly life changing, but at the price we can get them in Europe a cool little mod and do fit in with the black interior vents etc.

I LOVE how they feel, I don't like how the paddles themselves sit. I don't really want the longer extended ones, but feel like the aluminum SVR ones sit slightly higher than these and prefer that location.

‘Thanks I mine last week it’s headed this way, I could tell the smaller paddle option look smaller than OEM. I can always customs make the paddles. I just need the mechanical mechanism. Thanks

For those wanting a more turnkey experience, ZenCarbonFiber on IG / the net has these brand labeled for them. Talking with their rep, they can machine or fabricate custom carbon paddles and they offer aluminum parts as well. The nice part is their in stock selection can be replaced immediately due to same mounting holes. These are all kind of AliBaba marketplace machining vendors, but the quality is good for magnets and the parts themselves. They use Omron switches which are highly reliable.
I actually had trouble with the ebay ones I purchased, the mounting hardware was much too loose and OEM hardware could not be reused due to pan head size - options were to source more hardware or figure something out. I returned them for now. |
Guys, this in not a commercial advert but I really recommend looking into extended shift paddles we do produce based on OEM's.
They don't have that "magnetic click" but they look far sleeker and are way more extended even vs. SVR. Thanks to this feature you can even make shifts keeping your hands very low or very high on the steering wheel, which cannot be done with standard paddles, SVR, Alibaba, etc. |
I'll PM you - truthfully I'm seeking a supply partner to 3D print a metal design that's compatible with the OEM Pin Assembly design, or has access to rapid prototyping capacity at a reasonable cost (as I want a stainless steel or machined aluminum extension that is OEM fit and uses the existing pushbutton switch mechanism).
Xometry has a black friday sale so I'm thinking I can design/build the paddles I want for under $150 in the US. |
[QUOTE=FASTTOYS;2885745]‘Thanks — mine were ordered last week and are on the way now. Based on the photos, the “small” paddle option definitely looks smaller than OEM. Worst case, I can machine my own paddle blades; the main thing I need is the magnetic shift mechanism itself. Thanks.

Mine showed up today, and I installed them immediately. Just finished a 30-minute shakedown run, here are my impressions.
Installation was extremely straightforward. A T20 Torx, one screw per side, unplug the two-pin harness, swap the module, reverse the process. Total time was maybe 20 minutes, it’s completely plug-and-play with no errors or warnings. On the road, the difference is noticeable, in a good way. These magnetic paddles are definitely louder than the OEM setup, but the tactile feel is dramatically improved. The click is sharp, clean, and consistent, with zero mush or vague travel like the factory paddles. Every pull has a precise “break point,” and the return is fast and positive. It honestly gives the car a more motorsport-focused character, especially in manual mode. Compared back-to-back with the OEM paddles (which feel quiet, soft, and almost rubbery), the magnetic set feels like a proper performance upgrade. Upshifts are more positive, downshifts feel more intentional, and overall the shifting experience becomes more satisfying. No free-play, no wobble, no weird noises just a high-quality mechanical click. After a full 30-minute drive, everything worked flawlessly: • No accidental double-shifts • No hesitation or inconsistent engagement • No rubbing on the wheel • No warnings or electronic issues • Identical feel left-to-right If you’re on the fence, this is one of those small upgrades that genuinely transforms how the car feels from the driver’s seat. For anyone who uses manual mode often (or wishes they enjoyed it more), magnetic paddles are absolutely worth it. |
Will be purchasing a set of these to try out, as feedback on mechanical component is positive, but will be purchasing alloy extended paddles, as not keen on carbon fibre offering that comes with the switches.
For those of you also interested in alternative paddles, see :icon_arrow: TDD Store or :icon_arrow: OHC Motors SANZICP, who produce the magnetic switches, also provide replacement paddles, although I'm not sure the styling is appropriate for the interior of an F-Type :icon_really: See :icon_arrow: Sanzicp Store |

I’ve had the same issue with extended paddles in Ferraris and other brands too — even when they’re mounted on the steering column. For my driving style, the shorter carbon set is just the perfect fit. But interested to see what else can be produced by the other vendor. |

I guess I’m old school. I love the gear shift action alone for shifts in sport mode, and at least it’s implemented properly where shift up is back and shift down is forward. Some cars are the opposite and a lot of people can’t get on with that. It would be a problem for my brain too I think.
I literally never use the paddles so no need to upgrade ;-0 |
