LOUDER, 850 HP 2021 F-Type
That's what we need. Not some 4-cylinder. Certainly not an EV. God no. And put some OEM tires on it so it doesn't pee its pant legs in press reviews.
|
It may be what we need, but it's not what the regulators want. :(

Jaguar, you should understand that Americans want more power and more noise. We could not care less about "the regulators." |
2021 F-Type R ideal specs
* 7.5L Supercharged V12 * Target 850 HP / 780 TQ * 335 / 305 Sport Cup 2s * 1" wider rear fender flares * Add a HP limiter to snow mode * Do away with auto start-stop * Make the Eco button a "1320" button with a 140 mph spoiler delay * No infotainment system, no center screen * Rearview cam and front splitter cam on mirror * Add double paddle pull to enter Neutral * Move paddles to stalk, make them larger in aluminum * Bluetooth-only sound system * Add a solid 10" amplified subwoofer * Thinner, lighter carbon seat backs for 1.5" more leg room * Same cup holders The SVR can go away. The 4 cylinder needs to go, it hurts the F-Type brand. It is a self inflicted gun shot wound. The CX16 should be built as a low production $1M halo car showcasing the V12 in the F-Type plus electric assist to 1100+ HP. |
Sure.

My sentiments exactly insofar as the four-pot goes, but I learned on my last visit to the dealership from I purchased my F that the 4 cyl is all they are stocking. Sure enough, I looked at their website several times since and no other models of the F have been in stock. |

. You forgot $60K MSRP including all the accessories expected in a fine Jaguar. :icon_lurk5: |
7.5L? The car is already far too heavy to handle like a proper sports car. A properly designed 5.0L should be able to secure the 850hp.
|
Yeah, I don't agree with the 7.5L bullet point either. A supercharged V8 making 550 - 700hp is more than enough. It also should be a proper dual clutch, or 6MT. Even though the ZF is phenomenal, it's not able to compete with a PDK for example.
It should also come with coilovers from the factory, and full suspension adjustment. The fact that we can't adjust rear camber sucks. I'd also update the interior quality as well. While our interiors are relatively cool, it can't compete with AMG GT which would be a competitor for the car we're "dreaming about". |
The 5.0 Ford Coyote motor is good to 1100 HP on the stock bottom end. Guys are doing it with bolt ons Not that I will buy a mustang. But I would buy an F-Type with the Coyote SC motor in it. But that’s just me.

RacerX,
I applaud you for your thinking & wish list. However, real world economics will rule it out, as I can't see myself needing all those items nor having the $$$ to pony up for it. My current 550 hp '17 R convertible already tops out at $113K. I'd imagine with all your wanted items, it'll be around $150K by then. Think I'll go back to my 3rd convertible Vette in a few years, mid-engine C8, 500 hp 0 - 60 in 3 seconds, for around $75K, is probably fine for me... |

Over here that would require you to drive a Porsche, not a Jaguar.
