Phone Mode Button on Steering Wheel

Phone Mode Button on Steering Wheel
So, there is a "phone mode" button on the steering wheel, but zero info in the manual on how it works, or what to do to program a cell phone into the system.
Granted it is a 2006 car.
Maybe it predates the current bluetooth systems.
(As my eyes are drawn to the completely useless cassette deck)
Does anybody know what this button does, or how it works?
