Jaguar announced on Monday 16th April 2018 that 1000 employees in the UK will not be having their contracts renewed.

Although this is blamed on a combination of falling diesel vehicle sales and uncertainty over Brexit, it is clearly part of a strategy to move production out of the UK.

The E-Pace is already built in Austria by contract manufacturer Magna Steyr and in China by the Chery-JLR joint venture. The I-Pace is also to be built by Magna Steyr in Austria when it enters full production.
