The original black exterior paint is excellent, polished to a mirror shine, no dents, dings or rust. The tan leather interior, carpets, wood, and chrome are in near showroom condition. The engine and drive train are clean, run smooth, shift smooth, and is all original except for a Be Cool aluminum radiator, added to ensure no overheating on the hottest summer days. The engine and transmission have no leaks or drips. The Black cloth top is in perfect condition. All instruments, lights, cold AC, cruise control, radio, convertible top, brakes, and security system operate properly. The check engine light is NOT on! Includes the original spare, jack and tools, boot cover and case, all manuals, and the original window sticker. She is ready to cruise or show and gets attention everywhere she goes. In 1995 Jaguar (and Ford) upgraded the reliable, straight 6, AJ6 Jaguar engine and renamed it the AJ16. The most significant change was coil over plug ignition. The horsepower and torque remained the same (238 bhp and 281 lb/ft torque), and it remained naturally aspirated. 1996 was the last year of production of the Jaguar XJS and the AJ16 engine. Hagerty recently rated the XJS as a buy, with increasing values, and a premium for the convertible. Since the 2+2 XJS technically has a backseat (not much good for people, but great for a dog!), insurance rates are cheaper than 2 seat sports cars. In addition, this Jag will become 25 years old in 2020, and will qualify for antique vehicle registration in many states.
