Description:

2005 X-type Saloon for sale

Some issues:
Check Engine light (Cylinders 1,3,5 misfire)
DSC System Fault light
ABS light
Occasionally, speedometer will stop working
One runnning light bulb burned out, headlights (high and low beams) both work.

Body is in good shape
Heated seats and air conditioning/heat work really well
Has working, non-leaking sunroof and has tinted windows and aftermarket wheels put on by previous owner.
Recently got new battery, new valve gaskets, and o2 sensors.

Let me know if you want for parts or a (probably) simple project for someone who knows how to deal with these.
Runs/drives fine, will be taking it on a 450 mile trip if not sold by end of month.

I own a 2006 Sportwagon so I'm pretty familiar with X-Types and the problems you list don't appear to be major. You mentioned using the car for a 450-mile trip, so I assume it drives okay. A few questions if I may:

Any oil leaks (aside from the oil pan gasket)?
Engine drive train noises?
What options does it have, such as premium sound system, touch-screen, etc.
Body rust on the rocker panels and in the fender wells?
Any interior photos?

Thanks,

It does seem that it will be relatively easy for someone to fix but I'm tired of sinking money in to chase down what's causing these issues. If someone wants to try their hand at it and benefit that'd be great.

It does drive well for the most part. I'm not hesitant to take it anywhere and the loss of speedometer is the main issue with its daily drivability. If I drive it really gently the CEL issue doesn't manifest.
  • No oil leaks that I am aware of
  • no unusual noises other than some noise when shifting into 3rd gear (unless you put the clutch in and wait for a full second before shifting). I'm told this is probably the synchros going bad?
  • It has the sound package and touchscreen + navigation, folding rear seats, and the previous owner put the current rims + tires on it.
  • I will check the fender wells and will post if there are any.
  • Yes, I will post some interior images as well. I don't currently have any of the back seats but they are not ripped or faded.
I will get some more pictures up this week of the interior, engine bay, and wheel wells.

Sent you a PM on Monday, but haven't heard back. Looking to move forward, but would like to see the pictures of the interior and the engine compartment and work out details of the purchase. Please contact me when you have a chance.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
