Description:

I have a 2001 triple-black XK8 with navigation parked in the garage of a house in San Francisco that I'm preparing to sell.  It's been parked there since 2016, and I need it to be gone.

When I parked it, it had a (slowly) leaking coolant hose, but otherwise was running fine.  The tensioners were done by the previous owner at 40k miles.

I'll be back at the house next week and will upload pictures then (if there are any specific shots you'd like me to take, please ask!).  Cosmetically, this car is in very good shape, but mechanically it's going to need a coolant hose and the usual "this car has been sitting too long" treatment before anyone tries to start/drive it.  For someone with mechanical skills, it's probably a pretty straightforward project.

It has a clean title in my name and a long-expired CA registration.

I'd like $3000 for it (which I'm sure is less than it's really worth), but I'm open to offers.  I need to get it out of the garage in the next month or so.

What's the status on this vehicle? Has it been started regularly? What about the stale fuel? Where can the additional photos be seen? My email is nosnibor425@yahoo.com

Well, I've put some money into this car, to sort out the registration and swap out all the fluids, including the (very varnishy) gas. I also removed a lovely mouse nest made out of pink house insulation nestled under the engine cover (I had wondered why my cat became very interested in the car after years of feline indifference). The car is now registered, running, has new tires, and no longer has a coolant leak, and amazingly it doesn't seem like the rodents ate any wires.

I had to get it out of the garage in SF because we'd sold the house and moved to Santa Cruz. The car made the journey down to Santa Cruz, and I'm planning on spending a little more time and cash to sort it out to use it as a driver this spring/summer.

I'm still open to selling it, but it's going to be a lot more than the $3000 that I wanted in June, considering that it's now a running/driving/legal car instead of a minor project.
