2003 Jaguar XJR-R



 I’m selling my XJR for a number of reasons; I don’t need a third car as it’s always in the way and I have no garage space for it.  But mainly, the check engine light comes on and I cannot find the cause.  I was always intending to sell the car because at the time I purchased it, my son needed a car and was going to sell it to him.  That never happened as I have not found out what is causing the check engine light.

The codes read P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307, P0308, P1316. If reset they will come back within 100 miles.  Looking up these codes, it reports Random Misfire on all cylinders.  I can tell you there is NO misfiring in any cylinder either at idle or when driving.  The car starts immediately with no rough idle, runs fantastic, has loads of power, and accelerates instantly when you press the accelerator.   It drives smooth, handles great (even with worn tires), and stops on a dime.  New battery in 2022. The car has 156k miles, one wheel has a curb damaged trim ring, and is has the usual stone dings and bumps.  It has a cracked windshield and needs tires all around.  (It was like this when purchased.)

I have changed knock sensors, fuel pressure regulator, new Bosch iridium plugs, valley hoses, valve cover gaskets, and done everything I can think of.  Everything works including all the lights and switches.  The engine is extremely clean inside.  There is a small valve noise when first started cold but it goes away as it warms a bit.  It has the new chain tensioners installed. There are two keys and working FOBS and all the manuals that came with the car.  There is a large folder from the one of the previous owners and he spent a great deal on the car.
