Description:

Having a hard time writing this listing. I love this car but just picked up a MB with lower mileage and something has to go. Wish I could keep them both but....maybe an XKR down the road.

Purchased this car October 2018 from the adult son of the original owner with 112K on it. Originally purchased in SC, the son after taking ownership from his father, drove it for his sales job in upstate NY putting most of the mileage on it there.

While I have had it only a short time, I have replaced the battery with a new one, and replaced the piston seal on one rear caliper. I just recently (March '19) replaced both HID low beams and installed new ballasts at the same time. (Didn't want to pull the bumper cover off twice). I performed an oil and filter, and air filter change upon purchase and will perform a fresh oil change for the new owner at purchase as it is almost due. The car had brand new 19" Cooper RS3-G1's on it that now have the 6k miles on them that I have done in the car. The paint is in nice shape though the front bumper cover could use a freshening after 118K of leading the way. She is not perfect, but pretty nice for the miles. The interior is in great overall shape. A tiny portion of the headliner in the rear is starting to sag.

Now for the Jag stuff. The air suspension holds and rides very nicely, though I will see a slight but not full drop over a few days of sitting in cold weather. Comes right back up at start up. While I would love to replace all of the suspension bits to make it perfect, it handles as I would expect at this mileage. I have never driven a car so quiet and smooth at speed. The rear tie rods show split boots. I have Lemforder replacements that I have not installed yet that would be included in the purchase. The brakes have plenty of life left but I do feel a slight shimmy in the front rotors under heavy braking. I had planned to change them this Spring after the Winter driving season. To that end I have a full set of brand new R-1 Concept Cross Drilled and Vented Rotors and Pads that will go to the new owner. The coolant tank has the infamous broken nipple that had been repaired by the previous owner. I ran it all winter never losing any significant coolant but again have a replacement tank that will go to the new owner. The car starts and runs beautifully and shifts smoothly with no issues I have not had any codes whatsoever in my ownership. All items work as they should. (man I love the heated steering wheel). While I do almost all of my own work, I took the car to a local well known Jaguar restoration and repair shop to have the transmission serviced ( I live near Plainville, Ct. so you can guess) and the owners exact words were "it's shifting perfectly? leave it alone". I know this has been debated at length on the forums. I have not had it serviced and it shifts perfectly. You decide for yourself what you would like to do.

Now for the ticks. The parking sensors have a mind of their own when it is wet out. I simply turn them off when it happens until they choose to behave. The intermittent wipers work for a short time and then sometimes freeze. I have read numerous diagnostic threads but have not dealt with it yet. The other wiper functions work fine. I recently put new wiper blades on incorporating the spray nozzles. There is a Jaguar TSB - JTB00268 that deals with hot soak restart fuel trim parameters in regards to Winter fuel blends. I have experienced this on a couple of occasions. The car runs perfectly 99.99 % of the time and then after a long drive followed by a 10-15 min shutdown it may stall upon being started. It immediately starts right back up and feather the throttle for a second or two and all is normal again. Start after a 5 min shut down, no problem. Start after 20-30 min shut down, no problem. There is a lot of discussion regarding this on the forums but I believe a Jag reprogram is the answer as the car literally runs perfectly in every other situation and presents no codes. I have not had t to a dealer to have the reprogram done. I disclose as I am honest and have nothing to hide. This car has been very faithful to me in my short time with it. It has been one of the best driving experiences I have ever had. I have driven it daily since I purchased it and it has not let me down once. I am really torn with the idea of selling it.
