    Hi Paul

How are you, do you still have the XKR?

We did not get round to meeting up again but I can tell you there are a few hidden XK8's round the Lille area

quick question, I took my XK8 for the French MOT today and they failed it on emissions, I made the mistake of taking the car from home directly to the station around 8km, do you think if I had just given it a blast before going the emissions would have been ok.

I ask this as I have just returned from a 1000 km round trip to UK and the car had a good constant 80mph drive from Somerset back to the north of France

The Guy at Jaguar Tournai told me that I just need to give it a good blast just before the CT and it should be fine, however the guy I use in Somerset tells me I could have a faulty lambda sensor and should run a diagnosis, which I aim to do this Thursday

    Cheers

    Richard

Hi Frog, I came across a picture you posted of a very nice XKR car cover. I'm in the market for one, do you mind me asking where you found that at?

    Hi Angie,

If you know what you are doing, you can remove the headlights, strip them down and then rotate the metal reflector plate 180° about the vertical axis. It's free, but it's a tricky job and takes a good couple of hours.

I hope you enjoy your new life in France. I've been over here 25 years and would actually quite like to go back to the UK

    Regards,

    Paul

Hi Frog, we will be living in France at the begining of October. Found a lovely place and you are welcome to drop in anytime you are in the area. We are at - La Bourdonniere, 53190, Fougerolles du Plessis. In the Mayenne area.

Also, do you know of anyone who can give us a cheap quote to convert our headlights as we have had a quote of £2,000!!!

    Thanks.

    Angie

You won't get what you're looking for with my exhaust: it gives the same sound, only with the volume turned up by about 10-20%. Quite tame really and that's how I wanted it.

Tell me about your $200 exhaust. I've pored lots of $ bringing mine up to great stock shape. I want a much deeper, louder exhaust even when idling. Friend's 2005 911 Turbo has a great idle sound and I want the same.
