As it happens, Nix and I are off on an adventure by ourselves today,
and mightily looking forward to it too!
I plan to make the most of my outing today.

Until this Lockdown I had her out on the open road at least 3 times a week and maybe more.

I dislike sound in any of my cars (it only distracts attention from stuff going wrong) Nix's was never connected,
Trucklet has a Killer system which I have never turned on. I prefer letting the car 'talk' to me. I do some of my
best thinking while driving in Silence.

Thank you for the complement.
It's been since May the last time I could take Nix to stretch her legs. She's in a form of summer hibernation with a battery minder until I get a free day or so to blow the carbon off the valves. Due to Covid all our Jaguar club plans have been shelved, as so many counties are on the Governors Hot List of of infections and shut down, even several Rural counties!.

My tires are 215/60/15 and fit nicely inside the rear arches. I don't know about Series 3, I wouldn't be comfortable trying 235s on my car. As always, ymmv.

Hi, I love the look and handling of the Red KONI shocks, they really tightened up the handling, no sway or lean at all, like being on rails. I suspect the new rear coils helped too. I have new front coils to go on, just trying to find time.
The cup holders are a God-Send, very helpful for change also.

The US spec cars weren't that different apart from your early lighting and safety rules and the fact that you drive on the wrong side of the road but I don't recognise the brake booster, however the brake line routing looks right. I have plenty of photos if you want to send me your private email address but basically the car is worth the asking price depending on rust and it being a genuine shell. my email is sundor1@bigpond.com.
Mind you cars are very cheap in the US (and Canada????) compared to here in OZ so you should use other sources for a valuation.
Get more photos - underneath, front and rear suspension, full dash and trim, rear quarter windows and most VIP the Vin plate.
Buy right and it will appreciate in value as well as being retro fun to drive around in!!

This car would be considered cheap in OZ!! If its a genuine car it'll have the correct VIN (BA96... I think). It does look high all round and it appears to be not just the wheels as the spaces from the tyre to the wheel arch are high. The front and rear springs are different on GT's and the 1969-1970 GT is identical to the Lotus except for gauges and engine. The gearbox, diff, trim etc are all the same. I can't see the centre console but it should have one without the cubby box and have a clock mounted in the console above the gear stick. The front disc brakes are leading (ie callipers to the front of the stub axle) on the GTs unlike the standard cars which are to the rear. The rear drums should be 9 inch not the standard 8 inch and the front callipers should be P16s with much heavier discs (almost twice as thick as standard).

Hi, sorry for the delay - I've been on holidays.
In the photo the Cortina is fitted with period minilites (these came with the car). They are standard 13 inch fitting. I also have the Lotus steel wheels. My car was once owned by Ford competition department and the wheels were fitted at that time and have stayed with the car ever since.
The ride height is standard Lotus Cortina but interestingly it is lower than the ride height on my 2 door GT (same year) but the parts books show identical part numbers ??? I am assuming just age related sagging because everything looks absolutely standard and in good nick underneath.

Hi, Thanks for the nice comments, Yours also is a sweet car. I wish dearly mine was 4 or 5 speed too.
I do need of a set of wipers for the headlight system, as one tip that holds the wiper blade had broke, and the wiper blades are bad.
Let me know what you would want to ship them down to me, I may have something you may need also. I have a new set of front shocks (KYB) that I removed last fall simply because I had bought the complete set of 6 KONI shocks. The previous owner had replaced the front shocks.
I replaced the ski-slope console with one with cup holders (from Quebec), original was faded but still in good shape. I have the original driving (fog) lamps, but the lenses were cracked in one, so I replaced them with a nice (but cheap) set, slightly smaller from Princess Auto. The rear spoiler came from Captain Jaguar in the US, price was $275. -I love the look. If you want photos of anything, let me know.
