    Hey Timothy,
I have not replaced my glass in the Jag. Is you vehicle origianly a Candian model or is from the US? I think I am correct is saying Canadian models have a heated front windshield (take close look ands you can see the filaments) and US modeld do not.
The heated front screen is about $3000+ to replace so it may be worth looking at a non heated version as I am sure you don't drive it i the winter? The rain sensor is pricy too.
Did you try Speedy Glass for a quote? Tell them ther are higer than Apple and they knock off a few hunderd $ every time.

I have glass insurancem its a $500 deductable but much cheaper than paying full victim price.

    Good luck with the search.

Hi Karl, Managed to replace the thermostat and give the car a flush and that seems to have done the trick. Most likely the heater pump was plugged with debris. Question for you - Have you ever replaced a windsheild for your Jag in Calgary? Windsheild Surgeons won't even stock or order in for an XK8.

    Timothy,
Do you have a XK8 or XKR ? The R thermostat change is easy the 8 not so much. I would change all the coolant if you don’t have service records of the last change. Pick up the undiluted Dexcool Prestone at Cdn tire and some distilled water for a flushing. It’s a fairly easy job
Do you have JTIS downloaded, if not that is the first thing to do.
As for painting Calgary Coachworks do excellent work and usually only work on high end vehicles. Take a look at Rev Sams page on filling paint chips on the forum, depending on how bad the chips are you may save yourself a wad of cash?
What part of the city do you live in? I’m in the SE down by Fish Creek park.
    Regards,
    Karl

Nice! I have actually watched a car race at Silverstone (which I suspect is the place the car was named after?). Thanks for contacting me. I am about to dive into thermostat replacement housing hell this weekend but other than the back bolts it doesn't look too challenging. Any recommendations on places to get painting done? Mine is pretty chipped up on the hood and, depending on the price, am contemplating getting it resprayed.
