    Allan,

New to the forum. I see you are in Hickory. I live in Charlotte and have a 95 XJS. Been sitting for a while, and I need some work done to get her back to spec. Looking for a good mechanic who does good work at a fair price. I'll travel a bit to find the right guy. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Allan,

No problems. There's no rush, I'm just aiming to get it done by the summer, so any help is appreciated.

    Tks again

    Allan,

Hi, really sorry to bother you again. I just wondered if you had managed to get any photos of the block heater and wiring in situ on your XJS?

    Tks in advance

    Hi Allan
I am new to the forum and still figuring out how it works for private messages and such like. I have replied to my threads by the way.
I am actually thinking of selling my XJS. Had it since 2007 and as much as I think its a wonderful car, its not hooked my like my Daimler and Herald. Go figure! Once thing I am struggling is a value on the car. I think I would be lucky to get $10k for the car. I have dumped a ton of money into it, but that's the hobby I enjoy. I find the ac marginal at best here in the south. I had it converted to R134a, new compressor, new lines, new evaporator etc etc, dash out three times kerching kerching. The systems functions correctly, it just doesn't cool that well. Maybe I am expecting too much. I think there must be a small leak somewhere too. Overall the car is very nice and I have looked after it.

    Allan,

Tks for the reply. I'm trying to get some photos of one in situ as I've bought the T-piece, heater and wire and want to cut my bottom hose to fit it all. I've posted a request on a number of jaguar forums but no-one seems to reply although they were fitted to all canadian cars apparently. I appreciate that aj6 bottom hose is quite different but it still might help me understand the orientation of the t-piece, which way round the heater is pointing and the orientation of the wiring loom etc as originally designed by jaguar. If you do have any photos of the heater setup that you could post in a reply to my thread or email me, i'd really appreciate it.

    Tks again,

    Paul

    Allan,

Sorry to bother you. Another member has advised that he thinks you have an AJ16 XJS with a cylinder block pre-heater? I have placed a post asking for some help in getting photos of the heater element in place and I wonder if you might be in a position to help me at all?

    Tks very much

    Paul
