    Hi Reverend Sam!

Happy Friday good sir! I have enjoyed watching your videos over the years and found them immensely helpful. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us! This weekend I am going to attempt to tackle the dreaded fuel pump in my 03 XKR. I have all of the symptoms that you described having such as a slow start and then a perfectly running fuel pump once started. I have lived with this for four years and I am finally getting around to hopefully knocking this one out. Before I started, I just wanted to make sure that your baling wire fix was a long-term fix. Did it continue to hold during the duration of your XK8 ownership? I would hate to do it and then have it fail in a few months.

    Thanks!

    Corey

Greetings! I just purchased an 03 XJ8 Vanden Plas and I the plastic shift cover is completely missing due to some serious cracking. Do you have a video on how to remove the plastic cover(with the letters) from the J gate module on the XJ. I watched a few videos but did not find a clear video on just replacing the plastic cover. I do not want to replace the entire unit, when only the cover is damaged. Is it possible to just remove the plastic cover without removing the entire unit? I was hoping to just have to remove the screw on the top, and put a new cover on. I found a used module on ebay that appears to have a cover in good shape, but I just ordered it, and have not attempted to take anything apart yet. I just signed up to the forum and I would appreciate any info you, or anyone else, could provide.

Hey Reverend Sam, Can you please do a video on removing the bumper cover? It would go well next to the wheel well cover video. Fingers crossed.

I just read your post on using the Torque app to read the chassis code how did you do it? I have the app, the android but I can't pull the code. I have the ABS dashlight on continuously as well as STABILITY CONTROL light on as well.

    Sam,

I was wondering if you have any feedback on the two or so years since you put the Mercon tranny fluid in your tranny along with the pan change. I've got an '05 XJ8L with the same tranny. CTSC said the tranny's are programmed differently depending on the fluid, so the fluid for a Lincoln Navigator is going to perform differently than on an XK or XJ (weight, load, etc.). I'm struggling with that one. Also, their fluid is $19/liter, while the Jag stuff and one other "OE" brand is around $30/liter. So your $6-8/liter looks a whole lot better, but I'm also not going to skimp if there is a legitimate reason to use the higher cost stuff.

Also, did you flush the whole thing out, or did you just replace what came out when you replaced the pan?

Please let me know when you get a chance on the above.

Thanks (and thanks for that and the other great videos you've done--extremely helpful!).

Sam you had a post back in 2010 reguarding the removing of the 2 back mufflers, did you do that? and did it get comfortably louder? I had the x pipe installed and not quite there. was thinking of the rearmost muffler delete and heard magnaflow has made one for that very thing with a nice new semi large tip welded up , the install is at the clamp after the rear axle, but i can't find it anywhere. Have you heard anything on that also?
    Thanks for you time
