Car history, or at least some of it....

Had a little time to play and thought I'd share a few of my past rides, don't have pics of all of them on the pc unfortunately, but a few highlights of fairly ordinary cars owned over the years I guess, but loved them all....(mostly)
A few company cars come to mind... Vauxhall Astra SXI around 6 months and approx. 28,000 miles ( no pics ) Toyota Camry for a few months and 9,000 miles ( no pics) Audi 80 1.9 Tdi for around a year and 53,000 miles This was a great car, reliable and good looking in its day, solidly put together too Attachment 155040 Peugeot 309 1.9GLD This was my company car from new, a 1.9d little dog of a car as I seem to remember some journalist calling it. Got it from new with 7 miles on the clock and she went back 3 years later with 196,358 miles I was doing serious mileage as a sales rep at the time. She was in and out of quarries all day long, up hill and down dale, ragged along the motorways and never let me down once. Attachment 155041 VW Golf 2.0TD I think it was, solid little run around for a wee temp slot Attachment 155042 Rover 400, uninspiring to say the least, short term car, only for around 2 weeks Attachment 155043 Vauxhall Vectra, another temporary car.....Must have been around Christmas as I used to sometimes decorate the car for the kids when they were young, they loved it, lol Attachment 155044 Vauxhall Vectra - not one of my favourites, the company insisted so we had about a dozen, various bits falling off them here there n everywhere. I only had it for about 20 months or so and put a tad over 110,000 miles on her. Once drove it from Glasgow to Bolton with no clutch...lol Attachment 155045 Attachment 155046 Early Ford Mondeo 1.8TD, Had one in red for 3 years and put 160,000 miles on her, great little workhorse replacing the Sierra around that time Attachment 155047 Had another, this time in green as I was sick of Red and again for about a little over 2 years, this time 130,000 miles Attachment 155048 Loved the Ford brand in general and the Mondeo in particular, never let me down Ford Mondeo in Silver 2.0 Tdci Zetec for about a year and just a little under 50,000 miles ( no pics ) Ford Mondeo - had about 5 or 6 of them as company cars, this was a brief ownership and put around 22,000 miles on it, no issues, very reliable workhorse Attachment 155049 Attachment 155050 Saab 93 1.9TDI Attachment 155051 Jaguar X type for the wife, 2.5V6, loved it, lots of compliments! Joined the forum as member #107 at this time Attachment 155052 Attachment 155053 Saab 1.9 Tdi remapped to 175bhp, great little car and loved it, just got too small as the kids grew, 2 years and 81,000 miles before trading in for the Audi A6 Always remember going out to work one day in the Saab and coming home later with the Audi, the wife was surprised!!! Attachment 155054 Attachment 155055 Another Ford Mondeo ST Tdci remapped to 195bhp, this time for the wife, but also my plaything, loadsa fun and amazing mpg too, 6000 miles Did I mention I loved the Fords? Attachment 155056 Attachment 155057 Attachment 155058 Audi A6 and Mondy Attachment 155059 Wifes Passat 1.9 Tdi highline, great car, great workhorse and really good mpg, decent pulling power for its size too, so reliable Attachment 155060 Attachment 155061 Audi A6 - Loved this car, had its fair share of issues but Audi stepped up on every one. Mileage really started to fall, about 60,000 in 2 years became around 114,000 miles in total for 6 years Now my wife's ride.....doesn't look like this anymore:icon_confused: Attachment 155062 Attachment 155063 Attachment 155064 Audi and Passat Attachment 155065 Current ride, Jaguar XJ X358, Had her around 14 months and low mileage at about 15,000 miles in my ownership. Peter's X type in the background Attachment 155066 Jag playthings for the day courtesy of Jaguar invite.....great day out! Attachment 155067 Attachment 155068 Attachment 155069 Attachment 155070 Maybe not the best car history in the world ever, not the worst either I guess. Between all of the above cars, a lot of them as company cars doing stellar mileage, plus private ownership for my wife and myself from time to time, hire cars etc etc...... I've travelled well over 1M miles in a little over 24 years, probably more than most will travel in a lifetime. Thanks for looking What about yours?? |
