Gerry McGovern is an idiot
There are others above him that need to take most of the responsibility, for the pitiful decisions made over the last few years.. .
Gerry at least dresses in trendy dungarees like the hipsters the brand is now targeting, rather than looking like the typical cliched face of the top.
Not everything Bill Lyons did was correct but he did get it very right. The company abandoned Bill's admirable ethos, style, flair, frugality and knack of employing (and keeping) the best talent Britain had to offer (along with a few notable continentals).
Sure, there's currently a bit of hot air at Gaydon; there needs to be.
There's no RR or Bentley competitor (just yet).
But, there are hints of Bill's rhetoric, not a bad thing. We're never going to see the beautiful sport and saloon cars (that all ended abruptly with the terrific F Type).
Listen, don't write Gerry off too soon. Many rainbow ****'s are cashed up. And this may lead to bigger and better things.

Great write up, jya. And Gerry is quite dapper in his clothing. But his creative direction with Jaguar?? Nope. It’s not going to work. And neither are fully electric cars….not until the year 2075 at least.
Oh yes, I'm with you on the stupidity of coal powered cars. There's more than enough crude to last way beyond 2075 but that's too far ahead to predict.
Let them at least carry on with this public 'electric' rhetoric, but don't worry all of them do know that it is not the only offering. They've been stupidly and jealously eyeing off Tesla for too long.
The Melbourne motor show is coming up. Can't wait to see all those beautiful batteries and washing machine motors..
I'll only take coal powered propulsion seriously when, the Harley Davidson loud 'V' engine brigade go battery, the diesel ocean liners go battery, the kerosene Airbus and Boeing go battery, the military go battery oh and most of the long haul diesel trains..
