Default Golden State Wheels...again

About six months ago, I purchased a set of chrome, two piece lug
nuts from Golden State Wheels. I installed them on a 2006 S with
18 inch Triton wheels. Initially, they looked good; thus, I recommended
them to forum members.

Fast forward six months. Take a look at the picture; and, this in
an area where there is no salt, just lots of rain water. I e-mailed
the picture to Jeff Davies, President of Golden State Wheels. His
response was essentially, 'go pound sand', explaining that their lug
nuts were warrantied for 30 days and that "they stood by their
products." This is standing by their products??

Anyway, my apologies to anyone who bought this junk on my
recommendation. I did replace the lugs with Toyota lugs, part #
90942-01033. The total for 4 wheels was $110.80. The chrome
on these looks one hell of a lot better than Golden State's. They
are 21mm vs the three piece original Jags. I bought a 21mm socket
and an inexpensive torque wrench which I now keep in the spare
tire well. Time will tell; but I suspect Toyota's reputation will
far exceed Golden State's. If I lived in California, I would take
this firm to small claims court.

Wow those look like cheap chinese crap. Thanks for the heads up! Make sure to add some tags so that google can crawl this thread for anybody else looking at these, then e-mail the link to Jeff Davies as well.

The one-piece Toyota lug nuts will hold up for many years. I have them on my wife's 2004 Lexus RX330 AWD. At nearly 7 years old, they still look new....

The one-piece Mitsubishi lug nuts that I installed on our S-Type in late January 2010 still look new as well. I still recommend them to others who are interested in replacing the crappy Jaguar lug nuts....

There were a number of threads on this issue in January/February 2010. Forum members now looking for quality replacement lug nuts may want to go back and do some reading. There are several choices....

My rockauto lugs likewised rusted up after 6 months. I bought another set and replaced them because they were so cheap. If they go bad again, I"ll be calling Mistubishi
