So....JoycesJag was right!!
Saw the write-up you did about the front hub on your '05 & after changing my back bearings, still had humming from the front left. On a whim, picked up a front hub from NAPA and figured it might work, same part # for all years....., well, should have listened!! After beating the other one out! lol. I saw the difference in the new SKF hub vs. the old OEM part, the back part of the hub assembly was twice as as long! WON'T FIT!! Hits the spline bolt! So I promptly got on the phone to Nalley Jag and ordered the OEM replacement. I told them I was a member of this forum and it saved me 50 bucks, $270 vs. $320. They were very nice to deal with & I would recommend them. Were shipping it out today, so I'll have it in a couple of days. Sometimes my head is kinda hard and I have to do it my way (that's what my wife says anyway), but at least, thanks to JoycesJag I knew going in there might be a problem. Seems odd though that the manufacturers of these parts don't know that this is a problem and either engineer it differently or exclude the years that won't fit....oh well! Thanks JoycesJag!
Rick (joycesjag) is hands-down the best shade-tree mechanic I know. Whenever he offers advice on any S-Type problems that we have posted here, it behooves us to listen very carefully. His advice has saved me at least a couple thousand dollars over the past two-and-a-half years....

Hey Mark, kudos to you for admitting the mistake but soo glad you're getting it fixed. Just for the record my head's kinda hard too
Thanks for the compliments to Rick and Dan at Nalley too......always good to see these getting recognition
Mafioso are you saying that NAPA now carrys both size front hub assemblies?
My guess is that the deeper or longer wheel hub assembly is for pre 2003 MYs.
This'll make his head explode...but Rick (Joyces's Jag) is the closest there is to an "S-Type" savant. Happy to know ya in the clear Mark.

I'd like the correct part number as well, might as well do the other side and be done with it.
