Got my self a 2000 S-type with nearly all the toys, just missing a couple of options, and one of those is the auto dim rear view mirror, which I miss from the xj8

I have looked at most of the other posts about retrofitting, and understand that the jaguar auto dim mirror uses a different mount.

My suspicion is that an early MK3 mondeo mirror (with the 5 pin connector on the back) will work, as they appear to be the same type of mount.

Has anyone tried / or can confirm this ?

 

Does your rear view mirror have the larger box on the windshield for dim/rain/compass or the smaller version that has two pieces?

 

At the moment, I just have the basic manual mirror with the rectangular type windshield mount.
