DipYourCar PlastiDip
Hi All,
I just wanted to take a quick moment to share my experience with the plastidip products I ordered from dipyourcar.com. I know a lot of us on here like to modify the looks of our Jags so I wanted to let you know of a cheap alternative to buying new wheels or sending your wheels to a specialist. I just dipped my 18" TSW Nurburgring wheels with the dipyourcar plastidip Obsidian Black wheel kit.
I want to say the only real issue I had was that I chose December to dip my wheels
. I ordered them during the Black Friday sale and received a 25% discount on the Obsidian Black wheel kit and I want to say it took 4 business days to get to my house. The wheel kit I ordered came with 4 cans of the base matte black spray, dip release to apply to tires so the dip easily peels away, 3 cans of finish (obsidian black), a micro-fiber towel, the pre-dip wheel cleaner and 4 brake/rotor covers. There are many tutorials on how to apply to specific dip you order. I am in no way a professional but I want to say this DIY kit made me feel like one. The brake dust professional (BDP) cleaner and dip coat protective sprays are sold separately.
It took me about 6 hours per 2 wheels, I would recommend doing one half of your car at a time. Like I stated earlier, it took me 6 hours per side due to the cold weather. I spent a total of81 bucks (US) for the kit and the dip enhancer which beats the 200-300 dollar price per wheel at your average wheel specialist. If you have a free weekend I would recommend buying some dip and going to town on your wheels.
I will post photos of my wheels when I get home from work. Cheers!
