Fault Code ID
Can anyone identify these codes? I've searched this forum and a couple of others with no results. Google only turned up a very generic site that gave several different possibilities and stated that they could be manufacturer proprietary codes.
C1384, C0295, and B0171. |
Are you sure the DTC isn't P0171?
B and C DTC prefixes are for Body and Chassis. Here is a good resource for information: JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource |
Pretty certain of the codes. I have a pic of the B0171 as well.

better scan tool please
get a thinkdiag at the minimum |
+1 the PCM (aka "ECM") never reports those codes so it's the tool doing something weird.

Are you seeing any actual faults related to these mystery codes? DSC not available, etc.?
Working from potentially faulty memory, but I thought our cars sometimes generate “phantom” codes that mean nothing. For example, I thought some HVAC sensor or actuator was deleted on later models, but the software was never updated. The computer would throw a fault code for the missing component, but the system worked fine. The “fault” was never annunciated to the driver, but a mechanic could see it if he went digging, even though it means nothing. |
Only a few that I can confirm. The power steering codes return immediately and the steering is pretty stiff at low speeds so I think that one is legit. Some of the others are evidently so obscure that no one even knows what they are so I don't know what to look for. The parking sensor is probably legit although I haven't checked it because it's a low priority. I think I'll focus on the mechanicals for now and, once all that is sorted out, maybe try to chase some of the ghost codes down.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...cement-269327/ I don’t have a scanner capable of reading body codes, but note the symptoms presented due to a failed sensor. |
