G'day I'm looking for some advice I'm looking at a 2006 s-type v6 3.0l with 204000km
Paul, welcome to the forum.
Certainly have a browse through this fine forum, also have a browse in the 'sticky' threads as well. I think under the 'how to' guides there is some useful info on engine, transmission etc.
These cars are quite reliable and have a nice classic look about them. The 3.0 litre is a reliable unit and so is the transmission if cared for. It's not a Bentley but hard to look at any other prestige brand for the price and exclusivity. Not much was around in 2006 that looked this good that wasn't been driven by every man and his dog..
You haven't provided any info on the car you're looking at; I suggest you do as you may get others here providing incredibly useful comments as well.
Like any car, if it's had lots of love in its life I wouldn't hesitate in buying.
These cars had few faults and were very well built and very well designed.
Like some Jaguars (and Fords and others) of this vintage the headlining drooping was a problem. On an outdoor car, UV ray damage would have killed the paint by now as well as bleached the rear deck as well as the timber veneer, exposed plastic bits, leather and pillar lining material. All of this pretty much the same as any other brand.
