Default Hello

HI, I am new here and I have a question that I'm hoping can easily be solved. I own a 2005 Jag S-type, 6 cy. It has 41,000 miles and has never given me z problem. Currently an amber light with a message "Cannot apply park brake" along with an alarm. Can anyone help me with this? What should I do. Please don't tell me take to a dealership, going there is like getting married, you can't get in without a ceremony and you can't get out without being screwed in a divorce.

Here is a link to a reset procedure. Post 13, Robinb sets out the steps to do it yourself.
