Default Lower balljoint dust boots

I have a split lower balljoint boot on the Black car.

The joint is OK.

I can get boots only from a couple of suppliers, but no one knows the size?

I know the small hole is 14mm.

I have tried to measure the big hole diameter in situ, not real easy, and I get about? 40mm, which they claim is an odd size??

Is there anyone with a balljoint, vertical strut, laying around that can measure the diameter of the joint where the large opening of the boot fits.

I really dont want to dismantle it and then try and find something and fail.

Thanks heaps in advance.

Are you sure you have the 14mm ball joint?
They were upgraded pretty early on to the 16mm version.

Try this company and have a look around the site.

I used them for what I was looking for and they worked. I can,t open the web site just now, but vaguely remember they gave sizes and what fitted where.

I think so??. The protruding threaded section of the balljooint stud measures 14mm.

It is a 8/2000 car, so early build. L85213 is the Vin.

Maybe time to rip it apart, bugga.

Closing this off for now.

Finally ripped the Black car apart.

The upper ball joint boots are:
30 X 15 X 23high.

The lower boots are:

39 X 22 X 24high.

Both have metal ring clips top and bottom of the boots.

No luck in OZ with boots just yet, but Febest in Melbourne have a huge range, but a "by size" listing is lacking. I have asked for some assistance from them, but no answer as of typing this.

Hope this helps others out there.
