Default Photos of Wheel Size on S Types

What is the best size wheels to get on an S Type? I want something thats big, but not too big (>20) because I don't want to screw up ride quality. And I want something that isn't so wide that will take away from the look. I was thinking maybe 18 X 8.5 and 18 (or 19) X 9.5 rears. Does anyone have any photos of wheels on their S Types?

STR has that setting you're interested in(18X8.5 front 18X9.5 rear) I had the same question as you,on the Exterior posts, and nobody replied. I'll go with the Zeus rims, those on STR altough I would like something on 19X8.5 or 8 in front and 19X9.5 or 9 in the rear or a nice combination. So I'm having the same issues. I think on arden.de they have a set up for the rims that they are selling. We'll see what the boys think about this,a lot of people talked about rims,I looked in the old posts before,I didn't find nothing about this kind of setup

Yeah the STR has them, I've been looking into those wheels and some Coventry wheels someone brought up (Coventry had the 2.25 inch lip in the rear). I'm not a big wheels person so I don't know what setups will work best. I'm just weary about considering 19's because I don't wanna mess up the ride quality (feeling bumps or rubbing if the tires are too meaty or anything). I hope someone posts pics!!!

I've also considered suspension modifications because I want something that rides a little more sporty.

The 19s will not mess up your ride quality if you get decent tires.

Yeah I want 19' too but the ones on the rear wider..nobody is giving, yet, any examples of setups in this range. About tires I would go with Michelin.
Suspension H&R springs are good, stiff though as Eibach springs. There are some posts about Mina Gallery springs but as I saw in the pics the cars are lower in the back with Mina springs.
Maybe I will just put the Zeus rims...some springs,or not, good tires and that's it...muflers....Too much stress
I'll save the money and buy the STR if I really want want something faster.

The STR wheels should fit without a problem. I had a set mounted on my 02 S-type Sport and the ride quality was about the same.
Here are a couple of pics with the STR wheels mounted.....

I don't have any pics yet, as I have not purchased the wheels yet, but I got a great deal on some tires. I got4PireliRosso Zero in 245-45-19's, slightly used for $400 + shipping, Ebay of course. I plan on getting some MRR GT1 Wheels 19x8.5 with an 40 offset, but I had to put that on hold to pay for my vaction, this coming summer. [sm=wootwoot.gif]

This is what the wifey & I agreed upon on, tell me what y'all think? We didn't want anything too gaudy, she wants chrome & I wanted sporty and well...

they look great!! I like them but better in silver color, that would be my choice. Don't get me wrong I'm not bad mouthing your taste. The ones in the rear will be wider or all four the same?and the rear ones do they have a lip to give the impresion that they're wider than the ones in front?
Can you tell me pls what's with the offset? I don't know what is it
And I think in one of your replies,in a post about rims, you said something about your favorite rims..I know one of the brands was in black. I can't find that topic anymore.
I don't want to pimp my ST,with 19" I'm sure it would look nice but it's hard to find nice rims in this size. Zeus is my alternative,on 18 of course.
Can't wait for pics with your new shoes! Good luck

Those weren't my first choice, but like I said that is what the wifey & I agreed upon...
Persnonally, I don't care for the staggered look, so the shoes will be in a 40 off set on all corners. I'm not referring to you, I really don't care what people say or think. I know that may sound crazy, sinceI did ask for y'alls opinions.

Have you looked on ebay? I know 19's are a odd number, but they havea ton of selection.

Probably wasn't me, as I don't care for black rims. It is too much of a in the moment thing kind of like spinners are played out, unless you are a hood star.

Are those OEM. I know that I have seen them, but in chrome, looked pretty good.I would rock those. I like those first, second choice would the double sidded stars wheels?

I like the ones with thin spokesthe best! it's cool that the ones in the rear are wider. I don't know if they would fit on my2003 ST.And also I want to lower my car with H&R springs and maybe 19' rims are too big.
What's the offset? I don't know what's that.

These are the wheels I wanted to get, but they were too expensive.[:'(]

I also looked into the Coventry wheels, so I think I may end up getting those if I swap out from the stocks. They have a little bit smaller of a lip, but they're still nice.

They're a little more affordable. I still haven't decided on chrome or silver though. I think the silver comes with a polished lip, so it'll kinda help add to the traditional VIP look without getting too gaudy.
