I am reviving my old thread in hopes of helping anyone with a similar problem in the future that is using the search feature for help. The transmission problem ended up getting worse after initially getting better after having it flashed by Jaguar. Ultimately I was told by the jaguar dealership and a foreign car shop that my tranny was shot which was wrong. All I needed was a transmission service which a different local shop did. They replaced the pan, plug, gasket, etc and replaced the ATF fluid with the Jaguar branded ATF fluid and now the transmission works better than when I got it. Sorry for reviving my old thread but it is to help others in the future who might have this problem. I still have not figured out the rattle on start but hopefully one day I will.

 

Don't apologize, CP. This was a very informative thread which I might not have ever seen had you not revived it with a great update and resolution. I wish all trouble threads ended with a final resolution post by the OP. Thanks again!
