The axle shaft dust cover boots on my 2007 S-type R are split open due to age. The U-joints are in excellent condition ...so far ...and are still coved with grease and have NO play. This car has only 47000 miles. I just can't see the labor and expense involved in removing the axle shafts simply to replace the dry rotted boots. Does anyone any thoughts or even experience with a 'fix' for this even it is temporary? ....Maybe something a bit more sophisticated than duct tape.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
