Thanks. I will work out something with you for your aide in this project. Engine cover is still in process. We were only holding up on verifying the tooling process used for previous engine panels. Final parts for the engine panels are finally being produced tomorrow at the race facility. I just had confirmation call today. Once I see the parts and I am happy with the result, I will start on the tooling mold for the engine cover. The tools are quite the investment, so making sure the part quality and mold longevity is secure is critical.
I'll get photos of final parts shortly, and if all is up to standard, I will move forward with tool this month.

Yes, that was out long before Derek got started on the project (at over 3 times what he is expecting to charge us). At $3500 it's a non-starter.

Regarding the CF front radiator surround and grille - have you seen eBay item 172125277315? They ship worldwide, and whilst the grille is a much finer mesh it is easily replaced loads of different aftermarket styles.

For me, the large opening like project 7 grill looks better. The carbon fibre isn't bad if you have other CF pcs on exterior of car.

Hmmm; I hadn't seen that. Not too much information given out but yes, the mesh is too fine which would certainly create a problem trying to mount the parking sensors. If it's a 2 pce design like the stocker you could swap out the mesh as suggested but then this starts to look pricey for just the surround....

A little update for you guys. The process I have worked out on the panels seems to have worked out rather nicely. The fitment is exactly what I was hoping for. Each part is certainly an investment to do correctly, well worth the effort per what I'm seeing. I hope you guys like it. I'll gather some pricing shortly if anyone is interested. The radiator cover will tie everything together nicely. I will have sets in matte finish and gloss. If a client desires, there are other options for custom carbon finishes, an upchage is associated based upon cost of carbon material only.

I should have the radiator cover complete in a few days. I'm going ahead and moving forward with the engine cover mold now.

Thanks for your patience and I hope to speed things up with producing parts. If I'm able to sell a few here and there, the profit is all going back into making more parts and there seems to be quite a list of suggestions.

And yes, there is a weight savings haha. The plastic is light, but these true carbon fiber pieces literally weight close to nothing.

I love the carbon fibre under bonnet covers, just one big problem.

having checked my car last night which is a UK standard 2015 s, the covers wouldnt fit my car.

The radiator top cover should but the side covers will not. It looks like european spec cars have a pedestrian safety device fitted which is effectively 2 additional airbags that lift the bonnet up in the event of hitting a pedestrian, think the idea is to prevent them collapsing the bonnet and impacting the hard parts of the engine. The circular section beside the latch mechanism on my car is cut away. So these great panels will not fit, what can be done without resorting to a hacksaw which would ruin the panel

 

I also note that the new carbon fibre panels dont have the vent holes that the originals have

As regards the engine cover, personally think these should be same as the original just made in CF. For info when the CF bonnet vents are fitted you cant see the supercharger badge on the engine cover

 

Thanks for the input. They will fit the pedestrian safety based cars with a slight change to the trim out. That is why there is a guide rib on the units in photo.
