It is the Carbon Fiber interior that came on the 2006 Victory Edition XKR's. There is also contrast stitching on the seats and other badge differences. I updated the earlier picture with a sharper one and here are a couple more. If you zoom in near the J-Gate you'll see the detail. Thanks!

Really nice Jip, a rally nice standard car (if you could call it that) but the way I like them. These later models have all the beauty of the car, but with the 4.2 engine 6 speed ultra reliable box and more gadgets, making it an ultra reliabl, good looking ride. Do you get many comments ? I do every time I take mine out, people stop and walk over to read the badge on the front. The other week, a middle aged couple we're walking past it and he was talking away. She nudged him to look, where they stood for a couple of minutes admiring it.
I live in a small city in North Queensland, Australia and there is only 2, mine and an XKR convertible, so quite rare car up here and the colour, Aquamarine is very attractive. Search for my posts, as I pasted some photos last year.

Nice to chat

Joe

Thank you, XKJoe. Having driven German cars since 1976, it was time to fulfill my dream of owning an XK8. The first one I saw was unloading in front of a ritzy hotel in Seattle back in '98. Silver and black. Gotta' have it. A year ago it happened and posted it here. Someone here referred to the '04, '5, '6s as 'the sweet years'. Now I know why. Original styling with all the bugs worked out. Clean simple lines(curves) that may never go out of style. Like its' older bbrr,,, brro, sister, I mean. And I've never owned a car that people, men, describe as pretty. Or beautiful. Most men aren't allowed to say those words. Not to another man, anyway. Yet, almost everyday a man or women will say, 'Gee, that sure is a beautiful car'. Or gorgeous. Or pretty. And, of course I have to spend 30 minutes talking about it. The days of pretty cars ended in 1969 when Buicks, Cadillacs and Oldsmobiles had *****, Ruby Red lips and flowing gowns. They were glamorous. Since the '90s, styling has devolved to the military/industrial look to the now comically reptilian. A sign of our angry times. At 65 I would feel comically pathetic in a black 'Stang. Yet the XK is the mistress I can be in. I live on an island in NW Washington State. The Real Washington. About 15000 people here. And a small town. There are 2 others here. Converts. One new. One old. And my coupe. I've seen two others in a year. And I look at every car on the road. I don't look at people. I look at cars.
North Queensland. You wouldn't be talking Cairns(pronounced Cans) would you? We spent a month there in 1992. Rode dirtbikes all around Cape Trib. Daintree. Cooktown. Blah, blah, blah. My In-Laws are Aussies. Brisbanites. Sydney is spectacular. You are a lucky man, XKJoe.
And thanks again for the reply.

Jip

I'm also in the west, Jip, but far south of you, in Mendocino County, California, among the vineyards. Where you are sounds beautiful and even more remote than here. Even here, though, I'm very unlikely to ever pass another XK8 coupe on the road. I don't believe I've seen more than one in all the years, even in the more populous areas to the south and east, where I occasionally travel. Seen maybe half a dozen convertibles in all the years.

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago, in Portland. Missed the turn for our hotel and ended up in Washington until we could get turned around. I was born in Renton but my family moved from there when I was about 3 or 4.

@PATB - what do you use on your wood to get it looking like that? Great finish on the car. Makes me sad mine is covered in mud after a trip to a farm last week and a crap weather week so it has not had a bath since.

My 99 convertible, with Dayton wire wheels, louvered hood, vintage luggage rack, overriders removed so the grill bar can be seen, and custom embroidered seat and boot covers. Now she just needs her seemingly endless mechanical and electrical needs.

Greetings, 150FHC. Did you get lost all the way to Renton before you could get turned around?
Your Coupe' is over a month old now, so how do you like it? Tell us a little about it. Post some pics. We're all hoping to see just one more coupe'. About 5 days ago I saw just one more coupe. Spotted something weird up the road. I slowly caught up to it and saw it was a gold coupe', only to have it turn off onto the side road which paralleled the road I was on. Now for a good look from about 300 feet away until it disappeared into the woodwork. Totally odd to see one out in the bush. Never seen a gold one. Not even in pictures. Cool.
