Default Fair Deal on MY15 R?

Just for yuks...crunching some numbers. Thinking about jumping up to An R F type. Model Year 16' s for the most part are out of reach. So, besides the MY15 R being RWD, are there any other major differences between MY15 and 16?
Also, a previously leased MY 15 R coup(pre-certified) with 8000 miles for around $68K ...good? bad? indifferent? I love my MY17 XE V6, but maybe I'm thinking bucket list fun at this point in life. Any suggestions? Maybe wait until the MY16 R's go down in price? But then again, my own car will depreciate during that time also.

$68k is fair. I have seen three 2015 Rs sell for that, loaded w/ the same or less mileage in excellent shape. One even from a dealer - $67k for pretty much a new example.

What can you say about depreciation going forward except it is a cost of doing business.

Typically at a rate of $700 to $1100/m going forward (AFTER that intial whooper of a $20k drive off the lot hit) over and above all other associated monthly costs like 'payments'. In other words, a $68k car now will be $58k or less in a year.

There are no ways to justify cars like these financially except the fun factor.

Lots of threads comparing 2015s to 2016s on here. Only thing I would miss on a 2015 is the remote start (via mobile app).

2015s are a better looking car in my opinion. You have the black rear diffuser and smaller side skirts. The hood vents are also different vs the vents for the AWD cars.

Inaide you have the older infotainment system and none of the apps.

I think 68k is a fair price, but you could probably do slightly better if you really want to negotiate it. If you look at cars.com the lowest 15R with less than 20k miles is listed at 68k. Most are listed in the 70k plus range right now.

Some higher her mileage cars are even less.

Jaguar Apps was a $400 option in 2015 on the R. If it wasn't added as an option at purchase, apparently there is no way to add it.

No Jaguar Remote function though. The Vision pack is the must-have option - the car is sorely lacking a backup cam and front spoiler warning without it.

I agree that 2015 is a better looking car, but simply personal preference.

68K for a certified car, with 100K mi warranty would be a decent deal, in my opinion.
+1 on 2015 being better looking: on 2016 Rs body painted side skirts and fake diffuser add visual height and weight to the car. My 2016 F Type R is black, so you can't really tell, other than the side skirts are bigger (wider).
Also, I do not use InControl Apps and I feel like I am not missing much. Not imperative to driving pleasure.
