Area between driver snd passenger seats.

Then other day I took out the center console to work on lights inside the Jesus Shifter. I came across this wire and was wondering if anyone recognizes it. It is terminated on 1 end only. It was positioned horizontal along the transmission tunnel, and seems to have a strip of unopened/unused sticky tape running 7 inches in from unterminated end to 3 inches from unterminated end. It looks like an antenna of some sort ( the car does have Lo Jack, that transmitter that helps cops find stolen cars).


Just wondering if you might know wondering hat this is. Thanks john

 

I've often found 'interesting' wiring under the centre consoles on Jaguars.

There's a subversive international group ARTIE (Aftermarket Radio and Telephone Installation Engineers) dedicated to wrecking OE wiring harnesses with combinations of non colour coded wires, crimps and insulating tape.

My guess is that it is related to the late 90's cell phone holder that came with some (all?) XK8s. Mine has a similar wire with a fitting on the end.
