I was at the dealer yesterday to talk about an F-Pace for the misses. While I was there, I had the service dept check out the F-Type. When I handed off the key, I got a nice ooo-ahhh from the service rep who proceeded to show it around. One of the guys mumbled "Better than anything we have." Thanks again to LynxFX for the original find.
I ordered one on 27Feb and it was at my door 7Mar. Really fast shipping. I ordered the brown leather and was originally confused because the auction pictures show 3M adhesive to close it, but it showed up with thread and a needle.
Interestingly enough, the stitch pattern on the rest of the 3 sides require a two-needle stitch process, so I had to find another needle to close the gap. All in all, it looks great and I love it (even if it does make the buttons harder to push).

I was able to reproduce the stitch with a single needle and continuous thread. Required an up and back pattern.
Very nice. One question, though. I take it that, in the unlikely event you need to get to the mechanical key in the fob, you have to rip the stitching you did out, is that right?

Hmmm...good point. If at home, just use the spare. If on the road, you gotta do what you gotta do.
How about the subject of this post? I recently lost one of my two fob/key devices. I still have 1, however I'd like a 2nd. What is the easiest way to replace? Can I get a replacement anywhere and program myself? I'm in the US. Thanks in advance for help here.
