Stripe-it-all sent me color samples. Got to say, nice customer service pre-sale.

Color #130 is a match for CHA / Salsa.

Tempting lol.

No they just sent me 1" color squares. The other place I bought enough for a wheel so will see. The color will be off, but at least I will get an idea if it looks cheap or not.

Plus my car is on blocks in my garage waiting for the powdercoated Gyrodynes tomorrow (hopefully).

Well I got the wheels back and took them to a tire shop and got the Pirellis put back on today.

Of course I have to make things even harder for myself by wanting to put a layer of protection on the wheels before mounting them or doing anything else.

Deciding between CQuartz coating and then following the pattern with the rest of the car using Reload, and other coating-friendly cleaners. Might just use RimWax. The powercoat has a gloss clearcoat and is ready for either.

Want a coating on them so dust is easier to get off. Also if I am crazy enough to try the Stripe Kit. 1/4" would be the perfect size on the Gyrodynes.

The color tag is the sample for #130 - Salsa match. Purchased gloss black Lug Nuts and may go with a different center cap at some point.

After all this henning I then need to seek out a tall concrete curb to mash into ....

Gutted for you, the upside is that the match will be spot on so whilst annoying, you don't have to pay for two rims to be refurbished to get a match ...

As for sealant, I've been using Poor Boys wheel protectant on my cars for several seasons now and this stuff is really good with aiding the cleaning and preventing adhesion of dust and road dirt ...

HTH ...

Ok I got the stripe kit from the other place, not a perfect color match and just a haphazard install, but .... hmm .... lol .... the real thing would be via a wheel tool and be perfectly straight.

For my taste i believe it would look really good on a Corvette or a Challenger (nothing against those cars at all), but it may be too much for the F-Type.

I think it would look great if the stripe were 2/3rds as thick (matched color and circular, of course).

Need to see full side profile photo to appreciate fully, would of course need to be color matched, probably to the caliper rather than bodywork ... I like it ...

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the black lug nuts from? And are they 19mm?

I didn't have any luck finding 19mm ones, these are 21mm which means a thin walled 21mm socket is needed; no biggee for me.

They are DP brand on Amazon. Another member here recommended them.

Apparently, Toyota/Mitsubishi MAG SEAT (as opposed to ACORN) work fine also. I looked just now and don't see the proper DP spec'd ones; bought them months ago.
These would work:
Amazon Amazon

As for the full side view I have a scrawny garage and cant take her out because the whole back end is masked off for Leaper Plastidip.

I bought a set of these a couple of weeks ago:

20 pcs Black Mitsubishi Mag Style Lug nuts 12x1.5 fits OEM wheel fits Lancer EVO | eBay

Still waiting for them to arrive from the US so I can't comment yet on fitment, but after doing a lot of research I am very confident they will fit perfectly.

Update.
Semi-bummer.
They arrived a coupe of hours ago and they are NOT 19 mm as advertised, they are 21 mm.
However, I just happened to have a thin-wall 21 mm hex socket, so now they are on.
Other than 21 mm vs 19 mm they fit perfectly.

Update #2.
Just went for a short drive, first time since fitting the new black lug nuts, and no good!
Distinct rumble and vibration from the rear end, gradually getting worse, chucked a quick U-turn after about 1 km and headed straight back into the garage.
Rear lug nuts were tight, so took a couple off to check, and immediately found the problem.
They were not seated properly/fully, and the tell-tale was the way the "lock washer" looking bit at the base of the nut was worn almost completely away, and most of them were much harder to remove than the stock wheel nuts.
Funny thing was, no such problem with the front lug nuts, no such wear, fully seated and easy to remove.
The cause/difference has to be either the lugs on the spacers on the rear or the different lug nut holes in the wheels on the rears (much deeper than the fronts), or possibly both.
Put the stock lug nuts back on, went for a drive, problem gone.
So if you have spacers and/or Blade wheels I would steer clear of the black lug nuts linked in my earlier post.
