Default 2016 F Type R Electrical Failure

As I was driving my car Monday, all of a sudden the music stopped, the infotainment screen went blank, the A/C vents receded into the console and a whole bunch of warnings have appeared. In a few minutes everything came back to normal only to fail again later. Took the car to Jaguar San Diego, will keep you updated on what they say. Any idea what it may be?

My guess is that you have an intermittent short or grounding issue. Tough to say as whatever it is taking down your infotainment, HVAC, BSM, etc all at once.

You'll be in good hands at Jaguar San Diego. Go directly to Miguel, the service manager.

I recall one poster who had a bad ground in the engine bay - don't recall if it was the ground strap, or the stud itself. But it caused a big mess until they located it and fixed it.

I had an oil leak from a valve cover that hit electrical components and caused an electrical fault too. Fixed in a jiffy. Let us know how it turns out.

As of right now the car is still in the service. Service adviser called me to say that they are waiting for some part responsible for the infotainment unit's function. He was very vague and I did not have the time to talk, so I'll call today to find out exactly what is being replaced. In the meantime I am driving a surprisingly pleasant Hyundai Santa Fe
