What is the name on your green colour... Kryptonite? ;-)

With that colour, your car is going get a very slick look... i would go for the right rear lamps without the black rim...

Red and green should not be seen without a colour inbetween

Nex tweek should see the reintroduction of my XJ to normal traffic madness...

I've also decided: black trim on the rear lights is right. Especially since my chrome will be going the same colour... Red would look a little weird... Though I could still change to green

Project resurrection has been aborted due to lack of confidence in the car and the fact, that it is going to be scrapped. Just had enough of it.

I know... Bad isn't it?

I just woke up yesterday. After going through all the cash I spent on this heap 'o' ***** and the car just constantly wants more. Not once has the car driven for 2 or more months without something major being required. I think out of 2.5 years of ownership, it has stood about 8 months in total... And that as my daily driver! Unreliable... And then a money sucker.

So, pulled the plug. TÜV expires in October. Then I'll be parting the car out. The parts are worth a lot more than the car...

That is still there. I won't loose that anyway, as it is just the most beautiful car ever made (for me)

You made the right call, Daim. Although lol @ Eric's "pregnant woman" jab. I just have to bite the bullet and send Ugly Kitty off to the giant racetrack in the sky as well. That thing would probably throw a Failsafe Mode on its way to the under-world...

Sorry to hear you had to pull the plug, but entirely understandable. Sometimes the correct answer to the question, "How do I fix this car?" is "by finding a different car in better shape."

Sorry to hear you've given up, it's a bit of a shame you've come to this conclusion. If I was in your position I'd be tempted to source a good condition XJ8 from the UK and convert it to LHD using parts from your current model, it would be a fun little project.

However if or when the time comes and you decide you are going to break up the car, I'd be interested in some parts.

Best of Luck.

So it seems my car wants to live. Everything I was getting annoyed about has let off and disappeared. Even the LPG system seems to be working absolutely right... Weird.

He's on 'death row' until the 31st of October. He may be reprieved... May! Only of he acts like a Jaguar should and doesn't cost me any more nerves... But, it is only mid July... 3.5 months are a long time.

If he does do something wrong, I have a lot of nice new bits up for grabs... Like a nonleaking diff, a sound engine with new tensioners, lots and lots of new parts etc.

Sorting out my upgrades & repairs I am noticing that fixing one thing, has exposed or caused another job to do. So far they've been of the light/inexpensive variety.
