I'm having an H of a time getting my lugnuts off on my '09 XF following brake work by a local shop. While trying to find the correct size socket, I think I may have come close to stripping the lugs. What is the correct size socket for these lugs?
I just use a 1/2" cold chisel and cut just the end cap off then flair out the cap so you can use a small center punch to tap a small channel between the cap metal and the core steel nut to snap it lose.
You really have to take your time to keep from messing up the alloy wheels, but that is your only choice.
In the end, the steel core nut size will be 1 size smaller than the nut size with the cap on it. Something like 20MM socket (give or take a size).
"These will not be a good fit for your 2000 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas with factory aluminum wheels because a threading size of 1/2-20 is required. At this time, we do not have a recommended lug nut for your application."
I run these as replacements for the Jag lug nuts. Because they are Toyota the price is good. Gotta treat ech Jag lug as a 1 time shot and go slow to remove it.
