I have a 2003 Jag X Type, just recently got this oil pressure light on when the car is in Idle at operating temperature. Once i start driving at speed the light turns off. If i rev the engine the light turns off as well. Was wondering how i start the repair process. The oil level is fine and i cant spot any oil leaks. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

 

Most likely a failing/faulty oil pressure switch. Fairly common. Bit of a pain to get at and replace, but what isn't on our Cats?
