Please find attached the pictures of the finished rotors, they are now all packed and will be collected Tomorrow for delivery.

We will email tracking when parcels have been collected.

Sorry again for the delay but a batch of 10 x 4 rotors with different finishes has proven a time consuming event....

Regards

Paul
.

These really look like meat grinder blades to me. I like it.

Agreed. Definitely glad I pressed for that upgrade. Money well spent, though I can see Gibbo205's point that the rotor looks larger in the unpainted version.

At 34K miles, I'm just about due for a brake job, and also have a scheduled service in the next 500 miles, so I know its going to come up. Any reason not to hand these and my Porterfield pads to the Jaguar tech and ask that they use customer supplied parts rather than OEM replacements?

Ask nicely, they might. I think it messes up their pricing/profit margins as they make less money if you supply parts, but if they value the customer relationship... Or if you are no longer in the free service period perhaps get an independent shop to do it? Time to change brake fluid too, maybe order that yourself as well so you know they have the right stuff and get the entire brake service done at once.

Thinking black calipers and satin bronze paint for the shiny bolts on those rotors...

My Service Advisor at Newport Jaguar is outstanding, so I'm pretty sure he won't have a problem. They mounted my customer supplied Wheel Spacers when I bought new wheels 18 months ago.

I will certainly get a parts and labor breakdown on the usual 4 corner rotor replacement before I spring my rotors and pads on them.

I know your wheels are bronze as well as some other accents on the car, but not sure I would add the bronze points in the middle of all that black. Keeping things quiet behind the wheel will allow the wheel to stand out more.
I intend to have my bolts painted black, likely with a caliper paint or similar heat resistant formula.

Does anyone know what the "E" and "1" markings on the outside edges of the rotors are for?
I'm guessing they are wear indicators but I could be miles out!

Those are actually a W for Wortec and an arrow showing the proper direction of rotation. (I'm guessing on the W)

Thanks Lance!
I would never have guessed they are a W and an arrow, as they sure look like an E and a 1 to me!

You'll notice that some of the ones are back wards. They are actually one side arrows like I used to draw on engineering drawings before CAD existed.

They do, but since I didn't order the black coating, I'm obliged to stubbornly refuse to admit it looks better.

Tell us more about the Dark Ages, Grandpa!

I remember seeing a demonstration of one of the very first word processing programs, Electric Pencil. I also had a summer job in my youth at a company that converted IBM Selectric typewriters for computer use by adding a serial interface. I'm starting to feel old.

Well, you look like a pipe-smoking dinosaur in your picture.

The picture was a gift from someone who I never met face to face. It was his artistic impression based on rationale I'll never know ;^)

My first desktop was a TRaSh 80 on which I had to write my own accounting software code employing 64 kByte software modules (maximum RAM) and cassette recorders for both the software and the data. Of course that was back when IBM was still conspiring to run the world with a single mega computer. And yes, still quite fluent with slide rules that put men safely on the Moon. No modern day PC or iAnything can make that claim. lol

Now...let me tell you how to build a performance car without any of the 3 dozen computers it takes today...….

My first desktop was a Kaypro, and I'm probably the last person to learn how to use a slide rule in school, although I was never quite as fluent as I might have been. I've got some pretty nice ones though: both Dad's and Grandpa's. They seemed to favor Kueffel & Esser.

The calculator hit the scene when I was still in high school.

I never even had a calculator let alone used one in 13 years of school.
The first I ever saw one was my first day at work at the ATO, when a work colleague offered me one to perform late payment penalty compound interest calculations. I said "no thanks" mainly because I had no idea how to use one and continued on with in-the-head calculations and pen and paper for the more complex ones. It wasn't until a few weeks later I decided to try out one of these new fangled gadgets, and I found that for all but the most complex calculations I could do it quicker with pen and paper!
