The engine on my 1997 XJ6L was running fine until one morning it cranked over fine but didn't fire, not even once. I discovered quickly that no fuel was getting to the engine and the fuel rail was completely dry. I checked out the fuse and the relay that send power to the fuel pump and they seemed fine since I had 12v each place I was suppose to have it. I took the connector off of the top of the fuel pump but there was not voltage at all across the red and black wires. According to the schematic it doesn't show any thing else between the red wire and the relay so I don't know what the problem is unless it is a broken wire somewhere. I put an ohm meter across the pins of the pump and it appeared to be an open circuit. I don't know what the two blue wires do that are also connected to the top of the pump. Thanks in advance!
