Hey all - I have no proof of actual maliciousness, but for those in Southern Ontario who are looking to buy, please be alert for this guy:




I had seen this car for sale on fbm last summer - asked about it, but got no response (the ad was old at the time, so no biggie). Then I see it show up again a couple weeks ago, same seller, on fbm and Auto Trader. Messaged him on AT - no response. Messaged on fbm, and he was forthcoming about it being in two minor accidents, but when I asked if he had any maintenance records or documentation of the repairs, he ghosted me. No VIN, no carfax, claims to be second owner.

The ad on AT trader has gone away and come back multiple times since first showing up those couple-few weeks ago, all of which makes me feel something is up here. So if you've seen this car and been curious, I could be totally just misreading things! But be aware and cautious.

 

I had a bad experience with an F type seller seeming to be in Quebec. Seller (Rodrigues) claimed to be a Dental surgeon, who was sellling because of Canadian regulations obstacles to registering a US (lPennsylvania) titled car. A 2016 six cylinder MT with 40K mles, BRG convertible, he was asking $19K. He sent dozens of photos, we made a plan for shipping and inspection and he vanished.
BEWARE of anything sounding even similar to this.
