I'm just getting doing my research on the procedure to replace the convertible top hoses. I have the hoses in hand, and have been running the pressure regulator for 2 years. I do not currently have a leak.I also need to replace the lift cylinders, which I also have on hand.
In one of the threads here, I noticed an indication of how to identify when the hoses were made. Surprisingly, mine said "2-Q-08". This tells me they've already been replaced. The 20 MPa equates to 2900 psi. The new hoses from To Hydraulics are rated at 23,000 psi. Before I rip my car apart, am I replacing hoses that don't need to be replaced?
I guess I have two options here:
1. Continue running with the 2008 hoses and the pressure regulator.
2. Change the hoses and remove the pressure regulator.
In either case, I'll have some parts for sale soon ;-}
You can see in your picture that one of your hoses (at least) is falling apart - if that has the same markings as the other hoses then you know what you need to do.
