Intercooler pipe blew off.Help required.Any Jaguar mechanics on here ?
Where do I start ? we I am a total novice with cars which probably doesn't help so all the information I have is just parrot fashioned from my mechanic.
I was driving along on the motorway when there was a bang and I lost oil pressure but managed to limp to the side of the road.fortunately my usual mechanic'c garage was really near by and we managed to get it there.opened the bonnet and the engine was covered in oil.with next to nothing left in the engine and the intercooler pipe blown off.What we have done since is clear the DPF which was choked ,new turbo, new feed pipes, new intercooler, everything washed out and filters done etc.All done then took it for a run.everything fine.no warning lights then bang again.Oil filling the intercooler.It went bang when he accelerated and was looking for the turbo to kick in.This is from the mechanic which was exactly the same as what happened to me.I have loved the car and don't really want it to go to be scrapped but I don't want to throw money at it either. Its a 2016 XE with about 140k on the clock.Mechanic is pulling his hair out trying to think what is wrong.well he would if he had any.Any ideas that I could pass on would be great ?
