Timing chain slack test
Sorry to bring up another thread on the notorious timing chain tensioners on the 2010-2012 XKs.......I recently checked my timing chain when cold, through the oil cap, and there was no movement whatsoever. My car is a 2010 and only has 25,000 miles, but I have read that the tensioners can fail at any time. As a preventative measure I change my oil religiously at 5,000 miles and only drive 6,500 miles a year. Would it be helpful to change the oil more frequently at 3500-4,000 miles? I do mostly city driving. Thanks all.

Oil change interval is key. So is the right oil weight.
But if you’re not detecting any mis steps…
Only you can answer with the appropriate response, for you. I know mine.
