In the UK, a radio was an optional extra on the E-Type, normally fitted by the dealer and not the factory.
The usual dealer fitting was Radiomobile 980 model although I've seen some with what do appear to be originally fitted Blaupunkt Frankfurt.
Several specialists around now who will convert period radios by adding MP3 function without compromising the external appearance. Some can supply without you having an exchange unit.
