Default Will the battery go flat?

Hi everyone, I have owned a JaguarXJ (X351) for just over a year and although it is a beautiful thing to behold and drive there are many issues with this car, particularly ones of an electrical nature. Since buying I have already replaced the battery, but if left undriven for more than about 4-5 days the low battery start engine warning comes on as soon as you open the door. However, when cranked the engine turns easily and starts, so I am not 100% sure if this is just an electrical gremlin or not. This summer I hope to travel to California for a 4 week holiday, so my question is will my car start when I eventually get back to the airport car park?

What do you think?

Do you think it would be safer to put the car into storage?

Let me know.

You may need to reset the BMS. (battery monitoring system.)

A new battery should be OK for 4-5 days with no driving. Remember the vehicle doesn't go into 'sleep' mode unless locked and alarmed and active electrical systems are a drain on the battery.

If you have a nearby power supply, use of a CTEK is adviseable on modern Jaguars. They are very sensitive to even a partially discharged battery and this avoids any spurious error messages or code problems as well as increasing battery life.

As for leaving the vehicle in an airport car part for four weeks, you could have starting problems on your return. I've quite often left a Jaguar parked for one or two weeks but the one time I left my 2007 XK for three weeks, it didn't start when I got back.

I've just checked the long term parking charge at Newcastle Airport and I think this alone would make me decide to leave the car at home.
